COMP8830 Computing Internship

S1S212 units8000-level

This course will enable computer science students to develop competencies expected of professionals working in business, government or the broader community. A list of available internship opportunities will be maintained for which students can apply. A holistic selection process will be used to select the best applicant for each opportunity. Students can also propose internships, but these will always be established following negotiations between the ANU and the potential host organisations, before being offered to students along with other opportunities.

Prerequisites in 2027

The handbook's wording is ambiguous; this is a person's reading of it

All of

  • One of

    • enrolment in the Master of Computing
    • enrolment in the Master of Machine Learning and Computer Vision
  • COMP6442Software Construction
  • One of

    • COMP8280Responsible Practice, Innovation and Leadership
    • COMP6250Professional Practice: Holistic Thinking and Communication
    • COMP8260Professional Practice: Responsible Innovation and Leadership

Why it's read this way: The two programs are alternatives, and "and have successfully completed" applies to both. Competitive entry is a caveat.

The handbook also asks for something this site can't check (a permission code, a GPA, group membership or "equivalent" study). Read the original below.

Incompatible with COMP8715, COMP8755, COMP8800: you can't count both.
